On Dec. 13, more than 300 guests gathered at the home of Marcia and Brig Smart to celebrate the eighth annual Ambassadors for Texas Children’s Hospital Holiday Party.
Guests were dressed in their holiday best as they entered a winter wonderland. The Smart residence was warm and welcoming, adorned with three festive trees, holiday lights and plenty of holly and jolly to go around. It was the picture-perfect setting for a merry time filled with food, music and joyful holiday spirit.
There were signature cocktails and gourmet bites in abundance. Guests sipped pomegranate margaritas and nibbled on duck confit tacos, cauliflower couscous, shaved kale and Brussel sprout salad, and parmesan pommes frites, catered by Swift & Company. Traditional sweet treats like gingerbread cookies, peppermint brownies and buche de noel topped the dining room table.
Carol and Mike Linn, Promise campaign co-chairs, welcomed guests and shared some of the hospital’s many successes from the past year and presented Dr. Charles D. Fraser Jr., surgeon-in-chief of Texas Children’s, the Ambassadors’ check for more than $1.77 million in support of the campaign.
Best of all, the holidays will be a little brighter this year for some of Texas Children’s patients as a result of the hundreds of toys donated by guests.
